Just like a movie…
but far, far worse. Bad things were found out in my family this weekend. Consequences are not-so-great either. Have many things to think through and have many decisions to make in the very near future. I wish none of this happened, but the doer wasn’t thinking. Whole family’s a wreck. Lots of thinking and praying is needed. Lots of bitterness to work through. All roles have been rearranged. Some people are growing up while others are regressing.
Cryptic? Yes.
Will I spell out everything? I can’t, it’s just not fair.
Many people affected? Unfortunately.
Solutions? There are some, but they aren’t the way things are supposed to be.
And nothing will ever be the same.

The Aftermath
I have now seen what a Starbucks store looks like after it closes. The store now has brown paper in the windows, or that’s what I saw one week after it closed. It has now been two weeks since my beloved first Starbucks has closed. I miss my coworkers. I wonder if corporate misses us. Ha, just kidding!
We had a great party on closing night. Afterwards, after much searching, we went to a restaurant to hang out. It’s quite possible that a few people may or may not have had adult beverages. We took lots of pictures and had tons of fun. I have seen a handful of these fellow coworkers since and have worked a shift at one of the stores they have transferred to. I pass by one of the stores to and from work and I eagerly look for my coworkers’ cars.
Somehow, despite missing my old store and my former coworkers, I have found less stress at my new store. I work at a drive thru now and it can be pretty exciting during the busy times. When there aren’t customers around we have a great time talking about random things and doing rather ridiculous things. Ironically, there is going to be a new store opening up close by, let’s say it’s a stupid move. This new store is going to be drive thru only according to an ad I saw at my store; however, I heard that it might have a walk-up window and that would be a beneficial feature.
Oh, regarding less stress at my new store, this may be due to the fact that I have yet to run an entire shift where I am the actual supervisor. This may greatly change in about 12 or so hours when I’m actually working. By the way, closing so much later than at my old store is messing up my sleep schedule. I have always been the type of person to stay up late most nights, but I also like to sleep. It takes me a few hours to wind down from working. It’s after 3am and I’m finally getting to the point where I’d be comfortable and relaxed enough to sleep.
I have so much more to say about everything else in my life, but I shall save that for my next post. Let’s hope that post comes soon!

“It’s been a long time…”
“I shouldn’t have left you, without a dope beat to step to.” Yes, I absolutely stole that from Aaliyah and Timbaland.
As I was saying, I haven’t blogged in a long time. I think it was a ridiculous choice on my part. I should documenting my life. So, I start an update of my life since January because I’m pretty sure that was the last time I was here.
I have become a Glenn Beck follower. He cracks me up! I’m so glad he’s on Fox News and I’m also glad I have friends that watch his show too.
I have been a victim of Starbucks closing stores. Next Friday marks my last day at the store I’ve been at for two years. This is the longest period of time I’ve been employed. I don’t know what I feel, but I know that every day is different. I was the person that put up signs stating “Our sincerest apologies, this Starbucks will be closing on May 9, 2009.” Then on the bottom of the sign there are two locations listed. Ugh. There’s also a smaller sign near our register that says something along the lines of “this Starbucks is preparing to close”, double ugh.
Because of these signs, I have gotten the following questions and comments (my coworkers too):
“Why are you closing on May 9th?”
“Are you remodeling the store?”
“Oh, you’re closing forever?”
“Are you transferring to another store?”
“What are they going to do with all the furniture/machines?”
“Why are you closing? I thought this one (store) was popular.”
“Oh, the drive thru is so convenient.”
“I can’t believe this, I’ve been coming to this store for so many years”
“Why don’t they just add a drive-thru window?”
“They should move your location to the mall across the street”
“At least you still have a job”
As you can imagine, I’m really tired of the same questions or comments. I appreciate the fact that I have been transferred to a new store. I’m nervous about going to another store. I’ve been to that store a few times and worked one shift there over a year ago, but I don’t know what to expect and I’m pretty sure I don’t know anyone there. I hope I’m accepted, plain and simple. Heh, perhaps.
Moving right along…
Weebork and I celebrated our second anniversary in March. Woohoo! And, we went out to dinner twice that week! On the actual day we went to a local restaurant and saw a fellow blogger and his wife there. That weekend we went to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. OMG! So awesome. Awesomely amazing or amazingly awesome, or both. Yeah, both. Filet with a bleu cheese crust, heavenly.
I shall leave it at that.

2008
Let me recap this past year:
In January, it was decided that the Husband and I would find an apartment of our own. Luckily, the roommate at the time helped find a great place. At the end of the month we the Husband turned 30! We had a birthday dinner at Claim Jumper with a bunch of friends.
In February, I voted in the California primary election (for Romney), the next day he dropped out of the race and I was devastated. I didn’t want to talk or hear about politics. I was promoted to shift supervisor and began my training. Later that month, my Dad and brother came to help us move into our one bedroom apartment.
March marked our first wedding anniversary, unfortunately that was finals week, so we had to celebrate a little later.
In April, we were really busy with school.
In May, I was still busy with school, yet I had the opportunity to celebrate the “nephew’s” 3rd birthday. I ended the month with a visit to the Simon Wiesenthal Center (Museum of Tolerance). This was probably my 4th visit, but as always I learned a lot.
In June we were invited to my coworker’s graduation party, and I couldn’t believe she’d soon leave to start college. For some strange reason, I was on a frozen yogurt kick, I blame the heat. After we were out of school, we headed to Las Vegas to meet up with the Husband’s parents. As hot as it was, it was nice to see the family. I got a fake tattoo while I was there. At the end of the month, we had a birthday dinner for our friend who also turned 30 this year.
Fourth of July was spent with our friends and family in the lovely beach town. At the end of the month we spent time with our nephew for his birthday at Chuck E. Cheese.
August: My brothers visited for a few days and we took the to Donut Man on the way home. A week later the Husband and I went to a tattoo parlor as support for my coworkers; one got a tattoo and the other got her tongue pierced. Random event: a corvette drove through the window of a Starbucks! We received free tickets to Disneyland!
September: Republican National Convention! Our friend’s daughter’s birthday and my Mom’s birthday! I had two birthday dinners! Maybe it was three birhtday dinners?
October: An American Carol. Birthday dinner for the sister-in-law. The sister-in-law and her family lost their home in the Sylmar fire. 21st birthday dinner for a coworker. No trick-or-treaters on Halloween.
November: Visits to my parents’ increased because gas prices went down. Deep-fry party with friends. Voting. My brother turned 18. New location for church. Thanksgiving at Grandma’s. Thanksgiving Revisited at with friends.
December: End of the fall quarter. Dad’s birthday. Christmas Eve with friends and family. Christmas at Grandma’s. My brother turned 14.
What a year!

The time is near…
I can’t wait until Election Day. I want the winner to win fairly so that we can stop talking about campaigns.
A week and a half.
Perhaps I should say that I can’t wait until the day after Election Day. There, that’s what I meant. I can’t seem to form complete thoughts. That must mean it’s time for me to do something else. I want to blog more, yet I have no ideas to develop.

Since I’ve been back at school I have not taken the time to write about anything. It’s easy to get caught up with the task at hand. This morning I checked Hot Air. Two things have nearly set me ablaze.
The first thing is the ongoing “Joe the Plumber” stories. I really feel for this guy, all he did was ask a simple question. This question caused Senator Barack Obama to give a very curious answer. So, what happens? Very few bother to question the words that came out of the Senator’s mouth, however; “Joe the Plumber” is attacked by the media because of how he responds the to Senator’s bogus answer. Here’s one of the “Joe” link I checked out today.
The second thing that has caused my typical fiery response is this article: Obama Supporter Assaults Female McCain Volunteer in New York. I give all the credit to Ace of Spades HQ which was linked at Hot Air this morning. What bothers me the most is that this happened a month ago! If I were that woman, I would have contacted everyone imaginable so that I could make the loser that hit me famous.
Is it sad that only the negative things drive me to blog? Such a sad society we live in. I hope to blog with something more positive soon. Everyone, take care of yourselves and stay in one piece until Election Day.

First full week of school
I am pretty tired. School has been kicking my butt. It’s really sad, honestly. Having over three months off was not the greatest move I’ve made, however, that wasn’t my choice.
Anyway, my classes are pretty awesome. One of my professors is extremely liberal and can’t keep his mouth shut about it. He’s just so obviously liberal it makes me a little sick. Why do professors in the sciences have to make themselves look bad? Other than that, my professors know what they’re teaching, thankfully.
I am taking a Kinesiology class, Linguistic Anthropology and a geology course. Linguistics and anthropology in one class, oh my gosh, it’s so fun. I actually have never taken an anthropology class before, but this is the kind of thing I like.
The downside to going back to school is that it’s really hot most of the time. It also appears that I wasn’t really aware of how much of the campus is uphill. It’s rather embarrassing to show up to class as red as a tomato. Hopefully the autumn weather will kick in school, I’m tired of wearing shorts all the time.
I’m so glad that I’m taking some courses that aren’t strictly discussion-based. It’s unfortunate that education/liberal studies classes are all talk. I am finally taking a class where I can answer questions and there’s actually a right or wrong answer.
Can I just stay in school forever and rack up a bunch of degrees?

What guys shouldn’t wear.
I have been thinking about this post for a few weeks and I will continue to perfect it. So here it goes:
In no particular order, these are things guys should never wear, or own.
- Tank tops
- Socks with sandals
- Shorts that fall above the knee
- White socks with dress shoes
- Fluorescent colors
- Birkenstocks
- Tight shirts
- Most earrings
- skinny jeans
- their girlfriend’s jeans
- white belts (unless they are in martial arts, and only in the karate studio/dojo)
- eyeliner
- makeup in general
- headbands or sweatbands
- brightly colored or extremely patterned shoes
- overly patterned pants
- most necklaces
More will be added in the near future, I hope.

Hiatus
School’s back in session, so I’ve come to a stand-still with posting. Okay, there’s more to the story.
Excuses:
- Last weekend I was celebrating my birthday
- I got a cold during my birthday celebrations
- I started school and it’s taking up a decent amount of time
- Work is making me exhausted
- I’m still working on one of my post ideas
- This weekend the birthday festivities continue
- For number 6, I will be at my parents’ house and their wireless connection died
All seven excuses lead me to say that I hope to post something on Tuesday.
